eBay Duplicate listings policy, options to consider. Starting October 26, eBay will start enforcing a new Duplicate Listing policy to prevent search results from being dominated by multiple duplicate listings of the same item from the same seller.
In order to avoid any possible issues with your eBay listings we suggest that you consider available options outlined below:

  • Since duplicate listings will be removed on October 26th, you can let eBay perform this action on the mentioned date (Kyozou will be running a synchronization process frequently), or use eBay's Duplicate listing look-up tool, which will display a list of active duplicates and recommend which should be removed and which should not (information is based on recent sales history). Listings will have to be ended within your Kyozou platform from the Active Listings page, search for the eBay item id, use the End eBay listing early selection within the Choose One drop down menu, items will be moved to the Unsold Auctions page from where you can; A) return item back to inventory or B) remove from unsold and delete from inventory.
  • Please go through your created auto-lister profiles, check for duplicates and modify accordingly. Also be aware of when you have items that exist in both auto-lister as well as attached to auto-relister.
  • If you use Launch separate auctions upon individual sales option in your auto-lister profiles, we suggest that you to switch it to Launch single listing only when original listing ends option. Kyozou will be removing this option completely in the next 2 weeks and auto-lister will only support single listing (either with single or multiple quantity).
  • If in your Kyozou inventory there are duplicate product entries that have unique Product ID/AD ID, then we suggest you to consolidate these items as well, either by modifying title as well as other product information (i.e. picture, description etc....), merging products by ad id or deleting duplicate entries and adjusting inventory quantity on available products.

eBay Custom Item Specifics As most of you already know, eBay has started requiring custom item specifics to be assigned in more categories. Eventually sometime in 2011, eBay will discontinue displaying original eBay-defined attributes and will transition to a custom items specifics only environment ? this is something all sellers must prepare for.
Kyozou has implemented functionality to allow for the selection and creation of custom item specifics should the selected category support them.
When entering or updating your inventory, should you select an eBay category which supports custom item specifics, you will see the ChangeCustomSpecifics button displayed in the same section from which you can set appropriate custom values related to your item.

We strongly advise that moving forwards, you define custom item specifics for every new item you add into your inventory. This will avoid any possible reconfiguration of your products in the future once the custom specifics become mandatory.

eBay Duplicate listings policy Starting October 26 eBay will start enforcing a new Duplicate Listing policy to prevent search results from being dominated by multiple duplicate listings of the same item from the same seller.
The item offered in a Fixed Price listing must be significantly different from items offered in other Fixed Price listings.
Sellers can have one Fixed Price listing per identical item. Multiples of an item must be sold in a single multi-quantity Fixed Price listing.
Also, starting October 26, eBay will automatically end duplicate Fixed Price listings. Sellers who continue to create duplicate listings for identical items may be subject to a range of additional actions including listing cancellation, loss of fees, limits on account privileges, loss of seller status, and account suspension.

We ask that you contact your Kyozou Account Manager to discuss any changes to your eBay listing strategy in light of these new policies.

As of July 27th 2010 eBay sellers will be required to specify item condition with the new values when listing, re-listing, or selling similar in the affected categories.
Sellers who add inventory by catalog, using classification categories with Manufacturer / Model / Model Description values now have an additional batch mapping tool that will help map and set new item condition values in place of the old ones based on classification settings specified on each item. This tool can be located by going to Product Ads / Manage Product Ads page and clicking on the Change Listing Options button, under the eBay Item Condition Mapping section you will find the Item Condition Mapping By Classification Category link.

Kyozou supports EBAY Item Condition - Kyozou is happy to announce support for eBay's Item Condition.

Describing your item's condition is a key ingredient in your listing. Tell people exactly what they're getting. Mention even the smallest flaws so they know what to expect. It also reduces the chances of the buyer saying your item was not as described.

When preparing your items to be eBay ready, an Item Condition drop down menu will be provided once an eBay category is selected. Although the options vary by eBay category, the Item Condition drop-down menu lets you specify the products condition appropriately.
For example, the condition choices for clothing include New with tags, New without tags, New with defects, and Pre-owned.

As per eBay, as of July 27 sellers will be required to specify item condition with the new values when listing, re-listing, or selling similar in the affected categories.
